Melbourne Babymoon

April 15, 2009

Last week I experienced two new concepts – Melbourne and the Babymoon

I was my first time in Melbourne since I was too young to remember anything. It’s a cool city. However, I was secretly pleased when we had a poor  public transport experience – a tram that was 20 mins late and then took 40 minutes to get up Chapel St. But the city lived up to its hype of being stylish and livable.

Wikipedia defines a Babymoon as “a period of time that parents spend bonding with a recently-born baby”, while Jetstar sees them as “the opportunity to have a romantic, restful break together, before the couple becomes a family”. Looks like we got sucked in to the Jetstar version – but it was a great idea! We had a lovely time together, enjoying the last of this phase of life. We’re very thankful for the opportunity for the break.
